He was on guitar and lead vocals for The Jaggerz (Memoirs of the Traveler) and in the final line-up of Wild Cherry for their 3rd and 4th albums. As a solo artist, his big hit is Ah! Leah! in 1980 which is a popular song with Pittsburgh sports teams.

After they split, Anita Louis left the music business and later worked for FedEx, Time-Warner, and as a professional business trainer. The group was formed in 1968 by Isaac Hayes and David Porter of Stax Records in Memphis, Tennessee.

6 - Jeru The Damaja - Ten Crack Commandments 

DJ Premier explains that Puff Daddy heard the promo live on Hot 97 and immediately wanted to buy it. Puffy contacted Premier on-air, asking him to call the station, this is the famous situation where he called him home, on his cell, at his office to finally reach him on his yacht. Prhyme member sold the promo beat after discussing it with Jeru, who said “yo, it’s hip hop. No big deal.” Biggie already had the concept for “Ten Crack Commandments” and added the “ten” countdown sample from a spaceship launch sequence.

DJ Premier explique que Puff Daddy a entendu la promo en direct sur Hot 97 et a immédiatement voulu l'acheter. Puffy a contacté DJ Premier en direct, lui demandant d'appeler la station. C'est la fameuse histoire où il l'a appelé chez lui, sur son portable, à son bureau, pour finalement le joindre sur son yacht. Le réalisateur de Gang Starr a vendu le beat de la promo après en avoir discuté avec Jeru, qui a dit : « Yo, c'est du hip-hop. Rien de bien méchant. » Biggie avait déjà le concept de « Ten Crack Commandments » et y a ajouté le sample du compte à rebours « dix » tiré d'une séquence de lancement de vaisseau spatial.
