The album has a West Coast component and also an East Coast component. In the production we can find Dr. Dre, DJ Battlecat, Daz Dilinger, Warren G and Easy Mo Bee. Buckshot and Noreaga are guest MCs. On June 20, 2006, Kurupt released Same Day, Different Shit, his 5th album. Daz Dillinger does all the production and is a guest on the song As Time Fly By. On June 9, 2009, the DJ Quik and Kurupt duo released Blaqkout. Sales of the album were only 30,000 copies largely due to the lack of international distribution. Le 9 juin 2009, le duo DJ Quik et Kurupt sortait Blaqkout. Les ventes de l’album ont été de seulement 30 000 copies en bonne partie à cause qu’il n’y avait pas de distribution internationale.
