On January 5, 2010, Kanye West released VH1 Storytellers, his 2nd live album. In December 2021, Amazon aired a benefit concert of Ye with Drake for Larry Hoover. Le 5 janvier 2010, Kanye West sortait VH1 Storytellers, son 2e album live. En décembre 2021, Amazon a diffusé un concert bénéfice de Ye avec Drake pour Larry Hoover. 

On January 5, 1999, the group Suprême NTM released the single That’s My People. In 2021, the film Suprêmes was released, it is directed by Audrey Estrougo. It is covering the period going from the creation of the group in 1988 to their first concert at the Zénith in Paris in 1992. Le 5 janvier 1999, le groupe Suprême NTM sortait le simple That’s My People. En 2021, le film Suprêmes est paru, il est réalisé par Audrey Estrougo. Il s'agit d'une biographie du groupe. Il s'intéresse à la période allant de la création de la formation en 1988 à leur premier concert au Zénith de Paris en 1992.

On January 5, 1980, the Sugarhill Gang hit Billboard top 40 with Rapper’s Delight. Sylvia Robinson had difficulty finding rappers who wanted to record a 12’’. A group was formed with Big Bank Hank, Wonder Mike and Master Gee. Le 5 janvier 1980, le groupe Sugarhill Gang atteint le top 40 de Billboard avec Rapper’s Delight. Sylvia Robinson a eu de la difficulté à trouver des rappers qui voulaient enregistrer un disque. Un groupe a été formé avec Big Bank Hank, Wonder Mike et Master Gee. 

On January 5, 1978, it was Prince's solo debut performing in Minneapolis. He was not yet 20 years old, the term genius is often overused, but in his case it was true.
