On January 17, 1995, the band The Roots released Do you want More?!!!??!, their 2nd album. The album's master tapes, including unreleased tracks, were destroyed in the Universal Studios fire in 2008. It was Black Thought who came up with the name of the band which was originally called Radioactivity and then Black to the Future. On August 29, 2006, the band The Roots released Game Theory, their 7th album. This was their first release with Def Jam after leaving the Geffen label. On July 20, 1999, The Roots group released the mini album The Legendary. The recording was made live at the Palais X-Tra, Zurich, Switzerland, on May 6, 1999. On July 13, 2004, The Roots released The Tipping Point, their 6th album. On the Japanese version, we can find a cover of Melting Pot which is the origin of Booker T. & the M.G.'s. On June 22, 2010, the band The Roots released How I Got Over, their 9th album. Blu, Phonte & Patty Crash are guest stars on the song The Day. Le 22 juin 2010, le groupe The Roots sortait How I Got Over, leur 9e album. Blu, Phonte & Patty Crash sont invités sur la chanson The Day.

On May 19, 1993, the band The Roots released Organix, their debut album. It was released independently and this first effort was originally sold at the group's concerts in Europe.
