1 - James Gilstrap - Move Me (1976)
Chanteur soul du Texas qui a sorti deux albums solo, en 1975 et en 1976, tous deux avec Chelsea Records en Angleterre et Roxbury Records aux États-Unis. Je l'ai connu dans les années 90 grâce au livre Who's Who In Soul de l'auteur Ralph Tee. Avant sa carrière solo, le vétéran du Vietnam a fait parti du groupe Side Effect pour leur premier album en 1973.
Soul singer from Texas who released two solo albums, in 1975 and 1976, both with Chelsea Records in England and Roxbury Records in the United States. 2 - Kansas City Express - This Is The Place (1975)
Au début, ils s'appelaient Fabulous Elites, un groupe de 11 membres comprenant les quatre frères Bedell qui contribueraient plus tard à la création du Kansas City Express. Alors qu'un seul membre était originaire de Kansas City, le groupe a conservé son nom à Springfield au Missouri. Early on, they were called Fabulous Elites, a 11-piece group that included the four Bedell brothers who would later help form The Kansas City Express. While only one member hailed from Kansas City, the group stuck with its name in Springfield, Missouri. This single, recorded at American Artists Studio, was the band's first and only 45. Their showmanship even caught the eye of a local friend who had ties to Stax records. The legendary Memphis-based label signed the Express, but the relationship was not to be. In an unfortunate twist of fate, Stax disbanded just four months after they became one of the last groups it ever signed.

4 - Matt Staten & The Nomads - There She Goes (1965)
45 tours de Northern Soul qui se vend à plus de 1200$, le nom du chanteur est bien Matt même si parfois une erreur est reprise en tant que Mac car c'est ce qui est inscrit sur le disque d'origine. La parution s'est faite avec Prelude Records qui appartenait à H.B. Barnum.

5 - Nabay - Believe It Or Not (1967)
Nicki Robbins, son nom de scène, était libanais et a grandi dans le sud de Dearborn au Michigan.Avant sa brève carrière solo, il a collaboré avec The Royaltones, en compagnie de Dennis Coffey, pour la tournée des grands ducs. 7 - Stetsasonic - Here We Go Again (2024)
Prince Paul n'est pas sur cet album retour alors c'est un manque majeur. Dès 2022, il aurait plutôt été occupé à travailler sur de la nouvelle musique pour De La Soul (avant le décès de Trugoy) donc c'est pour le mieux de tous.

8 - Rakim & Autechre - Let the Arch Carrier Hit 'em (2024)
Un mash-up... mais un que j'ai trouvé plutôt bon si j'en parle. En 2022, le duo anglais avait sorti un mix de 5 heures 30 minutes avec Mixlr. La mme année, Rakim a été sur le simple Wonders du chanteur Michael Patrick Kelly.
