On January 13, 2010, unfortunately we learned about the death of Teddy Pendergrass. Close The Door from 1978 was sampled by Compton's Most Wanted, Big Daddy Kane, Mary J. Blige, DMX, AMG, Keith Murray, The B.U.M.S. and Father MC. Love T.K.O. from 1980 was sampled by Compton's Most Wanted, Master P, Big Daddy Kane, Ahmad, South Central Cartel, South Central Cartel, Xscape, Total, Nice & Smooth, Etienne De Crécy, DJ Paul, Cormega, Papoose, Buckshot, 9th Wonder and Tanya Morgan. On September 2, 1978, Teddy Pendergrass played a midnight "For Women Only" concert at Avery Fisher Hall in New York to promote his album Life Is A Song Worth Singing. It's ladies only in the crowd, and they are treated to white chocolate and lollipops. It proves very popular and more women-only shows are held to capitalize on Pendergrass' appeal to the opposite sex. His song Close the Door was sampled by Big Daddy Kane, Mary J. Blige, DMX, Keith Murray, The B.U.M.S. et Father MC.  Le 2 septembre 1978, Teddy Pendergrass a joué un concert de minuit « For Women Only » à l'Avery Fisher Hall de New York pour promouvoir son album Life Is A Song Worth Singing.
