On September 12, 2016, the Conway The Machine & Prodigy duo released the Hell Still on Earth mini album. Prodigy passed away less than a year later in June 2017. On September 12, 2007, unfortunately we learned about the death of Bobby Byrd. In his early days, he founded The Famous Flames and it was he who discovered none other than James Brown. After the soundtrack of Black Caesar, like several others, Bobby Byrd ended his association with James Brown. They collaborated together for 21 years. From 1971, his song I Know You Got Soul was sampled by Eric B. & Rakim, Public Enemy, Dream Warriors, Suprême NTM, Ice-T, MC Ren, The Pharcyde, Juggaknots, Ugly Duckling and Exile. It was Mariah Carey who wanted to have Ol ’Dirty Bastard for the first single from her album Daydream to bridge the gap with the hip-hop community. The song Fantasy is credited with bringing R&B with hip-hop collaborations into mass pop culture.
