On October 11, 1994, The Artifacts released Between A Rock And A Hard Place, their debut album. The Brick City Kids released another album in 1997 and then split up in 1998. They came back together in 2009. El Da Sensei and Tame One say they were signed to Big Beat Records after being heard freestyling at WKCR during the Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show.
