On February 23, 1999, Prince Paul presented us A Prince Among Thieves. In addition to De La Soul, the album features guest appearances by Big Daddy Kane, Chubb Rock, Biz Markie, Kool Keith, Sadat X, Xzibit, Special Ed, RZA and Buckshot. Only one single and video was released for the album, Prince Paul was pitching it as a movie trailer. According to Prince Paul, the inspiration comes from Master P with I’m Bout It which he considers very badly filmed but popular. Prince Paul tried to sell his movie to Tommy Boy but was unsuccessful.
