Born March 5, 1969, it is MC Solaar's birthday. After the important success of his second album Prose combat, MC Solaar composed two albums which he gave to his record company Polydor, for publication in three months as a double album. Going against the artist's choices, the label released the two records separately: the first was released in June 1997 (Paradisiaque), and the second in July 1998 (MC Solaar). Solaar then initiates legal proceedings against Polydor. In 1997, the industrial tribunal recognized that the Polydor label did not respect the clauses of the contract which bound it to MC Solaar by not publishing all the recordings produced on time. The court decision, confirmed by the Paris Court of Appeal in 2002, then by the Court of Cassation in 2004, prohibits Polydor (which has become the property of the Universal Music group) from continuing to operate the artist's first four albums, of which it still owns the intellectual property.
