In 1987, she founded Bon Ami Records, the group The New Style released their first album there. For their second album, their name was Naughty by Nature. The documentary I Want My Name Back, from 2001, lifts the veil on the questionable practices of the Robinson family towards various hip-hop artists including The Sugarhill Gang.
