A Losing Game de 1967 est le côté b du 45 tours Let It Happen qui est paru avec Goldwax de Memphis. L'étiquette Stax de la même ville l'avait d'ailleurs rejeté, un regain d'intérêt pour sa musique, stimulé par son portrait dans le livre Sweet Soul Music de Peter Guralnick en 1986, lui a permis de retourner en studio, et il a pu achever un autre album, Take Me to the Limit en 1991.
