Walk Away de 1992 a vu sa ligne de basse reprise l'année suivante par Q-Tip pour Award Tour qui était le premier extrait du troisième album initulé Midnight Marauders de la formation A Tribe Called Quest. Pour donner à la chanson r&b un effet new jack swing, elle échantillonne la batterie de la chanson de 1975 de Kool & the Gang "Jungle Jazz".
1992's "Walk Away" had its bass line covered the following year by Q-Tip for Award Tour, which was the first single from A Tribe Called Quest's third album, "Midnight Marauders." To give the r&b song a new jack swing feel, it samples the drums from Kool & the Gang's 1975 song "Jungle Jazz."

8 - Kelis
Milkshake a été écrit et réalisé par The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo) en 2003. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme d'études secondaires, elle a décroché un rôle de choriste pour le groupe de hip-hop Gravediggaz. La chanteuse s'est livrée sur ses années de mariage avec Nas et ce n'est pas joli : violences conjugales et addiction à l'alcool.
Milkshake was written and produced by The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo) in 2003. After graduating from high school, she landed a role as a backup singer for the hip-hop group Gravediggaz. The singer opened up about her years of marriage to Nas, and it wasn't pretty: domestic violence and alcohol addiction.
9 - Kellee Patterson - Mister Magic
I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little More, Baby en 1976 était sa reprise de Barry White pour cette chanteuse dont Kellee, ici avec Shadybrook Records, est le 2e album. Sur ce même disque, elle reprend aussi Grover Washington. Son premier effort intitulé Maiden Voyage était paru en 1973 avec Black Jazz Records. Cette dernière étiquette de Gene Russell étant devenu une compagnie de production, il l'a signé avec Shadybrook.
I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little More, Baby in 1976 was her Barry White cover for this singer, whose second album, Kellee, here with Shadybrook Records, is her second album. On this same LP, she also covers Grover Washington. Her first effort, Maiden Voyage, was released in 1973 on Black Jazz Records. Gene Russell's latter label having become a production company, he signed her to Shadybrook.

Need Some Lovin’ de son deuxième album The Lost Tribe of Shabazz est une brillante chanson, il était bien sûr un MC engagé socialement et en plus la musique vient de Love Spell par The Fatback Back bien avant que ça soit utilisé par Tha Alkaholiks. Le rapper du New Jersey est un des membres fondateurs du Flavor Unit, sans la mauvaise promotion faite par Tuff City, sa formule de funk consciencieux aurait pu avoir un meilleur succès.
"Need Some Lovin'" from his sophomore album The Lost Tribe of Shabazz is a brilliant song. He was, of course, a socially engaged MC, and the music comes from Love Spell by The Fatback Back long before it was used by Tha Alkaholiks. The New Jersey rapper is one of the founding members of Flavor Unit, and without the absent promotion from Tuff City, his formula of conscious funk could have been a bigger hit.
