On September 12, 2007, unfortunately we learned about the death of Bobby Byrd. In his early days, he founded The Famous Flames and it was he who discovered none other than James Brown. After the soundtrack of Black Caesar, like several others, Bobby Byrd ended his association with James Brown. They collaborated together for 21 years. From 1971, his song I Know You Got Soul was sampled by Eric B. & Rakim, Public Enemy, Dream Warriors, Suprême NTM, Ice-T, MC Ren, The Pharcyde, Juggaknots, Ugly Duckling and Exile.
