Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians - What I Am

On August 9, 1988, Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians released their debut album, Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars, the title a reference to their longshot chances of making it big. The first single is the easygoing, introspective "What I Am," which stands out from the dance music and hair metal on the charts and becomes a surprise hit. The song was sampled by Brand Nubian, Soon E MC, Grand Puba, Limp Bizkit, Scram Jones and Alicia Keys.

Le 9 août 1988, Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians ont sorti leur premier album, Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars, le titre faisant référence à leurs chances à long terme de réussir. Le premier simple est l’introspectif "What I Am", qui se démarque de la musique dance et du hair metal dans les palmarès et devient un succès surprise. La chanson a été échantillonnée par Brand Nubian, Soon E MC, Grand Puba, Limp Bizkit, Scram Jones et Alicia Keys.
