On August 30, 1977, Barry White released Barry White Sings for Someone You Love, his 7th album but his first with hair on the cover. His song Playing Your Game, Baby has been sampled by Smooth Ice, Big Daddy Kane, Black Moon, Ill Al Skratch, Mega Banton, Grand Puba, Lamifa, Ashanti, The Alchemist, 9th Wonder and Illa Ghee. In the documentary We Are Twisted Sister!, we learn that the band, with little judgment, hung a puppet in the effigy of Barry White ... It was in response to the Disco Sucks movement.
