Hoodshock

On June 27, 1996, Fugees headline the "Hoodshock" festival in Harlem, which the group organized as a free event to encourage voter registration. The Notorious B.I.G., Sean "Puffy" Combs and Wu-Tang Clan also perform, but the event makes headlines for a panic set off at the end of the festival when a man fires gunshots into the air. In the chaos, about 30 people are injured.

Le 27 juin 1996, Fugees a fait la une du festival "Hoodshock" à Harlem, que le groupe a organisé comme un événement gratuit pour encourager l'inscription des électeurs. The Notorious B.I.G., Sean "Puffy" Combs et Wu-Tang Clan se produisent également, mais l'événement fait les gros titres à la suite d'une panique déclenchée à la fin du festival lorsqu'un homme tire des coups de feu en l'air. Dans le chaos, une trentaine de personnes sont blessées.

Soft Machine

On August 26, 2023, Big Daddy Kane headlined a Hip Hop 50 event at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London. During the show, Kamanchi Sly from British group Hijack came on stage wearing a mask and simply stood in front of the cheering audience. Kane tolerated the interruption for a few minutes but ended up stopping the music to confront the agitator. Hijack was scheduled to perform after Big Daddy Kane. This was considered disrespectful by Hijack, which is why Sly invaded the stage. Ice-T signed  Hijack to his own Rhyme Syndicate label, they recorded and released the single "The Badman is Robbin'" (Rhyme Syndicate, 1989). The track reached number 56 on the UK Singles Chart. Hijack's debut album, The Horns of Jericho (Rhyme Syndicate, 1991), was recorded around the same time.
