2 Live Crew - As Clean As They Wanna Be

On June 15, 1989, 2 Live Crew released As Clean As They Wanna Be. This is the clean version of their album As Nasty As They Wanna Be which was released a few months earlier in February. The song Pretty Woman, a poor cover by Roy Orbison, is only on the clean album and has earned them a lawsuit from Roy. The song Break It On Down nevertheless contains some vulgarities as well as City of Boom. Me So Horny becomes an opportunity for Brother Marquis to watch Arsenio Hall instead of holding his bozack and The Funk Shop has changed its title.

Le 15 juin 1989, le groupe 2 Live Crew sortait As Clean As They Wanna Be. C’est la version propre de leur album As Nasty As They Wanna Be qui était paru quelques mois plus tôt en février. La chanson Pretty Woman, une piètre reprise de Roy Orbison, est seulement sur l’album propre et leur a valu une poursuite de Roy. La chanson Break It On Down contient malgré tout quelques vulgarités ainsi que City of Boom. On August 26, 2023, Big Daddy Kane headlined a Hip Hop 50 event at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London. During the show, Kamanchi Sly from British group Hijack came on stage wearing a mask and simply stood in front of the cheering audience.
