On May 3, 1969, Sly and The Family Stone came out with Stand!, their 4th album. The song Sing a simple Song was sampled by Digital Underground, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, Public Enemy, Main Source, Super Cat, EPMD, The Pharcyde, Dr. Dre, Timide et Sans Complexe, MC Solaar, Mellowman, Supreme NTM , Lenny Kravitz, Amon Tobin, The Beatnuts, OC and Demi Portion. You Can Make It If You Try has been covered by Stetsasonic, Jungle Brothers, Maestro Fresh Wes, Anthrax, Ice Cube, Michie Mee, Original M.C., Ice-T, Rascalz, Mobb Deep and DJ Shadow.
