Kool G Rap & DJ Polo - Road To The Riches

On March 14, 1989, the duo Kool G Rap and DJ Polo released Road To The Riches, their debut album. Kool G Rap was looking for a DJ and Eric B. introduced him to DJ Polo. Marley Marl who knew DJ Polo made them record It’s A Demo’. As early as 1986, this first song was played on Rap Attack, the Mr. Magic radio show.

Le 14 mars 1989, le duo Kool G Rap & DJ Polo sortait Road To The Riches, leur 1er album. Kool G Rap se cherchait un DJ et Eric B. lui a présenté DJ Polo. Marley Marl qui connaissait DJ Polo leur a fait enregistrer It’s A Demo’’. Dès 1986, cette première chanson a joué à Rap Attack, l’émission de radio de Mr. Magic.

Soft Machine

On August 26, 2023, Big Daddy Kane headlined a Hip Hop 50 event at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London. During the show, Kamanchi Sly from British group Hijack came on stage wearing a mask and simply stood in front of the cheering audience. Kane tolerated the interruption for a few minutes but ended up stopping the music to confront the agitator. Hijack was scheduled to perform after Big Daddy Kane. This was considered disrespectful by Hijack, which is why Sly invaded the stage. Ice-T signed  Hijack to his own Rhyme Syndicate label, they recorded and released the single "The Badman is Robbin'" (Rhyme Syndicate, 1989). The track reached number 56 on the UK Singles Chart. Hijack's debut album, The Horns of Jericho (Rhyme Syndicate, 1991), was recorded around the same time.
