Busy Bee

Le 26 octobre 1962, c’est l’anniversaire de Busy Bee qui a gagné le New Music Seminar en 1985 comme étant le meilleur MC. Toutefois avec le recul, Roxanne Shante aurait eu le dessus et les juges dont Kurtis Blow trouvaient Roxanne Shante bien jeune. De plus, le fait qu’il y avait peu de femmes MC à l’époque a nuit à la victoire de Shante  

On October 26, 1962, itis Busy Bee's birthday who won the New Music Seminar in 1985 as Best MC. However with hindsight, Roxanne Shante would have had the upper hand and the judges including Kurtis Blow found Roxanne Shante very young. Also, the fact that there were few female MCs at the time hampered Shante's victory.

Soft Machine

On August 26, 2023, Big Daddy Kane headlined a Hip Hop 50 event at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London. During the show, Kamanchi Sly from British group Hijack came on stage wearing a mask and simply stood in front of the cheering audience. Kane tolerated the interruption for a few minutes but ended up stopping the music to confront the agitator. Hijack was scheduled to perform after Big Daddy Kane. This was considered disrespectful by Hijack, which is why Sly invaded the stage. Ice-T signed  Hijack to his own Rhyme Syndicate label, they recorded and released the single "The Badman is Robbin'" (Rhyme Syndicate, 1989). The track reached number 56 on the UK Singles Chart. Hijack's debut album, The Horns of Jericho (Rhyme Syndicate, 1991), was recorded around the same time.
