Gilbert O’Sullivan

On November 11, 1991, Gilbert O’Sullivan launched a lawsuit against Biz Markie that would change the face of music. Biz Markie used Gilbert O’Sullivan's song Alone Again without permission. 100% of the royalties from Biz Markie's song went to Gilbert O’Sullivan. On October 29, 1991, Hammer released Too Legit To Quit, his 4th album. Hammer appeared on the Wendy Williams Show on July 27, 2009 and told a story about a phone call he received from Michael Jackson, regarding the part of the 2 Legit 2 Quit video that included a fake Jackson, giving his approval and inclusion of it. He explained how Jackson viewed and liked the video, and both expressed that they were fans of each other. For a long time, the first four albums released under Polydor were withdrawn from sale in 2000 permanently because the label released the MC Solaar album without the permission of the artist who wanted to put the disc with the falls of the sessions as second disc in the album Paradisiaque released a year earlier, and considered a violation of the contract binding to the artist according to a judgment against the record company.
