Following the fatal shooting of the groups DJ / producer Scott La Rock in 1987, KRS One was determined to continue Boogie Down Productions despite the tragedy. Taking the crew in a slightly different direction, adopting the moniker 'Teacher' and taking on social issues, The Blastmaster crafted an album that to this day still sounds fresh and exciting.

This album features the stunning singles "Crayshaw,"Fug" & "Genvieve". Their self-titled debut was the first UK soul LP to land on the Billboard Top 200 charts, and Second Time Round placed them back on the US charts. And in another first while touring they became the first British band to ever headline the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem.
