1 - James Chance & The Contortions
Initialement connu sous le nom de Contortions, un groupe dérivé, James White & The Blacks, en a formé un. Le titre « Contort Yourself » est extrait de leur premier album, « Buy », sorti chez Ariola en 1979. Figure emblématique de la no wave, le saxophoniste a joué une musique mêlant improvisation jazz et punk sur la scène new-yorkaise à partir de la fin des années 1970, au sein de groupes tels que Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, The Blacks (comme on le voit dans le film « Downtown 81 »), The Flaming Demonics, The Sardonic Symphonics, Terminal City et Les Contortions.
