1 - Carleen Anderson
« Ain't Givin' Up On You » est apparue pour la première fois sur son mini-album « Dusky Sappho » en 1993 avec Circa. En 1990, elle a formé le groupe d'acid jazz (oui, je le considère comme un genre et c'est aussi une étiquette, bien sûr) Young Disciples, qu'elle a quitté deux ans plus tard. Entre 1999 et 2000, elle a fait partie de la formation The Brand New Heavies.

2 - Dave McAllister
Ice Blue provient de son album The Scientific Mind / Night Magic de 1978, il a sorti 4 autres disques en cette même année de la montée du fou à Khomeini. Il est revenu en force avec 6 longs jeux en 1979. Il en a ajouté une trentaine en tant que Douglas Wood entre 1976 et 1997.
Ice Blue comes from his 1978 album The Scientific Mind / Night Magic. He released four other albums that same year of Khomeini's rise to dictatorship. The following calendar cycle, he returned with a vengeance with six albums. He added about thirty more as Douglas Wood between 1976 and 1997.
3 - Eddie (Der Brudders) Minnis
Le titre « Shan » est extrait de son album « Nicole An' Shan An' », sorti en 1977 avec le groupe Ronnie Butler An Der Ramblers avec l'étiquette Pot Luck. Cet artiste bahaméen est à la fois musicien, peintre et auteur-compositeur. En 1971, il a obtenu un bacc en architecture de l'Université McGill à Montréal.
Shan is from his album called Nicole An' Shan An' in 1977 with Ronnie Butler An Der Ramblers on the Pot Luck label. He is a Bahamian artist, musician, painter and songwriter. In 1971 he received a BSc degree in Architecture from McGill University in Montreal.
4 - Lee Mason - Shady Blues
Wewantsounds réédite Music By, le classique culte de la Chappell Recorded Music Library, initialement paru au Royaume-Uni en 1971. Cet album est en réalité l'œuvre du célèbre compositeur et arrangeur britannique Pete Moore, surtout connu pour avoir produit le thème emblématique « Asteroid » en 1968 pour la société de publicité cinématographique Pearl and Dean.
Wewantsounds is reissuing Music By, the cult classic from the Chappell Recorded Music Library, originally released in the UK in 1971. 7 - The Chambers Brothers - Funky
Édition limitée à 1000 exemplaires numérotés sur vinyle rouge. Ces quatre frères ont fait leurs premières armes dans des chorales d'église et sur la scène gospel et folk du sud de la Californie. Leur carrière a véritablement décollé au milieu des années 1960 lorsqu'ils ont commencé à se produire à New York et ont connu un succès retentissant en 1968 avec « Time Has Come Today ». Ce morceau de 11 minutes illustrait l'esprit novateur des frères ; le groupe mêlait les traditions du blues et du gospel américains aux sonorités saturées d'effets du rock psychédélique alors en vogue.

But things really picked up halfway through the 1960s when they started performing in New York and in 1968 scored their hit, "Time Has Come Today." This 11-minute opus showcased the progressive mindset of the brothers; the group combined American blues and gospel traditions with the effects-laden sound of psychedelic rock that was very much in vogue around that time.
