On May 5, 2023, it was the reissue of Nana's album Africadeus by the German label Altercat Records. The record was originally released with Pierre Barouh's French label Saravah in 1973. Naná Vasconcelos was a Brazilian percussionist, singer and berimbau player, notable for his work as a solo artist on more than two dozen albums , and as backing musician with Pat Metheny, Don Cherry, Björk, Jan Garbarek, Egberto Gismonti, Gato Barbieri and Milton Nascimento. Vasconcelos played a wide variety of musical instruments including congas, berimbau, gourd, triangle, drums, cymbals, repique, tambourine, gong, caxixi, talking drum, cuica, shaker, palmas, pandeiro, zabumba, udu, cabasa, prato, tambor, hi-hats, bells, water drum, vibraphone, güiro, ganza, cowbell, tabla, xequere, Turkish drum, repique, cymbals, surdo, shells, African bells, agogo bells, clay pot, timpani, snare drum, flexatone, Tibetan gong and other percussion assorted.

Le 24 mai 2023, c'était la réédition de l'album Live At The Showboat Lounge par The Meters. Cet enregistrement est extrait d'une émission de radio de WNOE en direct de la Nouvelle-Orléans en janvier 1977, avec un DJ qui anime qui entre les chansons pendant la durée de l'émission. C'est sur double vinyle de 250 grammes chacun. The Meters ont interprété et enregistré leur propre musique de la fin des années 1960 à 1977 et ont joué un rôle influent en tant que musiciens d'accompagnement pour d'autres artistes, dont Lee Dorsey, Robert Palmer, le Dr John et Allen Toussaint. Art et Cyril Neville ont quitté le groupe au début de 1977, mais The Meters est toujours apparu dans Saturday Night Live le 19 mars 1977, lors de la deuxième saison de l'émission. This recording is taken from a WNOE (la station s'est tournée vers le country en 1980) radio show recorded live from New Orleans in January 1977, with a DJ hosting who enters songs for the duration of the show. It's on double vinyl of 250 grams each. Le 2 juin 2023. c'était la sortie du documentaire Drop The Needle sur la plateforme Amazon Canada. J'en ai profité pour voir celui-ci. La sortie originale du film avait été le 22 février 2023 à Edmonton et le 4 mars suivant au festival du film canadien de Kingston. En août 1990, le magasin Play De Record a ouvert ses portes sur la rue Yonge, à Toronto. Il a rapidement commencé à répondre aux besoins de la radio universitaire et des DJ qui ont créé de nouveaux sons loin du courant dominant. Grâce à l'éthique de travail contagieuse et aux conseils du fondateur Eugene Tam, il est devenu organiquement la plaque tournante de la musique "Dance" et des genres qui ont émergé sous ce parapluie, alimentant et favorisant la culture hip-hop et électronique. Aujourd'hui, son impact sur Toronto et par extension sur le Canada est incontestable. Les participants au film sont Kardinal Offishall, Russell Peters, Saukrates, Frankenstein et Maestro Fresh Wes. Je recommande le film aux amateurs de nostalgie années 90, on se croirait dans un magasin de l'époque et ça rappelle des beaux souvenirs, mais aussi on voit comment un secteur en déclin peut revivre. 

On June 2, 2023, it was the release of the documentary Drop The Needle on the Amazon Canada platform. I took the opportunity to see this one. The film's original release was February 22, 2023 in Edmonton and the following March 4 at the Kingston Canadian Film Festival. In August 1990, the Play De Record store opened on Yonge Street in Toronto. It soon began to cater to the needs of college radio and DJs who created new sounds away from the mainstream. Through the contagious work ethic and guidance of founder Eugene Tam, it has organically become the hub of "Dance" music and the genres that have emerged under this umbrella, fueling and fostering hip-hop and electronic culture. Today, his impact on Toronto and by extension on Canada is undeniable. The participants in the film are Kardinal Offishall, Russell Peters, Saukrates, Frankenstein and Maestro Fresh Wes. I recommend the film to lovers of 90s nostalgia, it's like being in a store of the time and it brings back beautiful memories, but also we see how a sector in decline can come back to life.

Le 2 juin 2023, c'était la réédition de Blues And News de Hal Singer par l'étiquette française SouffleContinu Records. L'original date de 1971 avec la française Marge / Futura Records de Gérard Terronès. Hal Singer était un survivant du massacre racial de Tulsa en 1921 au cours duquel la maison de sa famille a été incendiée par des suprémacistes blancs. Un film documentaire, Hal Singer, Keep the Music Going (1999) a été réalisé par Guetty Felin. Il a été réalisé en collaboration avec le CNC en France et le réseau musical câblé français Muzzik. Le documentaire s'est intégré dans le récit des films super-8 personnels de Singer, des images d'archives de l'ère du jazz et des images de la maison de Singer à Paris, en concert et en enseignant le jazz à la jeune génération de musiciens en France. La poète parlée Jessica Care Moore est présentée dans un duo avec Singer. Il est devenu centenaire le 8 octobre 2019.

On June 2, 2023, it was the reissue of Hal Singer's Blues And News (with Art Taylor and Siegfried Kessler) by the French label SouffleContinu Records. The original dates from 1971 with the French jazz label Marge / Futura Records owned by Gérard Terronès. Hal Singer was a survivor of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre in which his family's home was burned down by white supremacists. A documentary film, Hal Singer, Keep the Music Going in 1999 was directed by Guetty Felin. It was produced in collaboration with the CNC in France and the French cable music network Muzzik. The documentary weaved into the narrative of Singer's personal super-8 films, archival footage from the Jazz Age and footage of Singer's home in Paris, performing, teaching jazz to the young generation of musicians in France. Spoken poet Jessica Care Moore is featured in a duet with Singer. He became a centenarian on October 8, 2019.

Le 3 juin 2023, c'était la sortie du documentaire TLC Forever sur les réseaux A&E et Lifetime. J'ai visionné le film et on passe un bon moment en apprenant plus de détails sur ce groupe marquant du R&B. Il a été annoncé en octobre 2020 que la chaîne de télévision A&E Network avait mis en lumière un tout nouveau documentaire spécial de deux heures intitulé Biography: TLC relatant l'ascension fulgurante du groupe vers le sommet. Le documentaire doit être produit par le réalisateur Roger Ross Williams, lauréat d'un Oscar et d'un Emmy Award, avec le producteur Geoff Martz, lauréat d'un Emmy Award. Réalisé par Matt Kay, le spécial devait être diffusé sur A&E quelque temps en 2021, mais a ensuite été repoussé à 2022; puis 2023. TLC est le groupe féminin américain le plus vendu depuis The Supremes, avec 65 millions de disques vendus dans le monde. Le film se termine sur leur passage au festival Glastonbury. 

On June 3, 2023, it was the release of the TLC Forever documentary on the A&E and Lifetime networks. I watched the film and I had a good time learning more details about this outstanding R&B group. It was announced in October 2020 that the A&E Network television channel had spotlighted an all-new two-hour documentary special titled Biography: TLC chronicling the band's meteoric rise to the top. The documentary was to be produce by Oscar and Emmy Award-winning director Roger Ross Williams, with Emmy Award-winning producer Geoff Martz. Directed by Matt Kay, the special was supposed to air on A&E sometime in 2021, but was later pushed back to 2022; then finally in 2023. TLC is the best-selling American girl group since The Supremes, with 65 million records sold worldwide. The film ends with their appearance at the Glastonbury Festival. TLC is touring with Shaggy, En Vogue and Sean Kingston in June / July in North America.

Le 4 juin 2023, c'était la sortie du première épisode de la série The Idol avec The Weeknd. J'aime The Weeknd mais je ne regarderai pas un autre épisode, c'est lent et on se demande à quel endroit ça s'en va. La série marque également la dernière apparition télévisée d'Anne Heche, décédée le 11 août 2022. La bande originale de la série, The Idol Vol. 1, devrait sortir le 30 juin. La bande originale comprendra des chansons créées par le Weeknd lui-même et l'acteur de soutien Mike Dean, entre autres. Double Fantasy (avec Future) est sorti en tant que premier single de la bande originale le 21 avril 2023. Popular , une collaboration avec Playboi Carti et Madonna , est sorti en tant que deuxième single de la bande originale le 2 juin 2023. The Weeknd est un des plus gros vendeur de disques / téléchargements / écoutes de la planète, après un rôle convaincant en tant que lui-même dans Uncut Gems des frères Safdie, on voit avec The Idol qu'il est mieux de s'en tenir à la musique. 

On June 4, 2023, it was the release of the first episode of The Idol series with The Weeknd. I love The Weeknd but I won't watch another episode, it's slow and you wonder where it's going. The series also marks the last television appearance of Anne Heche, who died on August 11, 2022. The series soundtrack, The Idol Vol. 1, is slated for release on June 30. The soundtrack will include songs created by the Weeknd himself and supporting actor Mike Dean, among others. Double Fantasy (featuring Future) was released as the soundtrack's lead single on April 21, 2023. Popular, a collaboration with Playboi Carti and Madonna, was released as the soundtrack's second single on June 2, 2023. The Weeknd is one of the biggest seller of records / downloads / streams on the planet, after a convincing role as himself in Uncut Gems by the Safdie brothers, we can see with The Idol that it is better to stick to the music.

Le 19 novembre 2023. je me rendrai au spectacle de Tool au Centre Bell. Les spectacles que j'ai vu depuis un an sont Jean-Thomas Jobin, Ron Josol / Eddy King, July Talk / Crown Lands, une soirée d'humour aux Insulaires à Laval en décembre dernier, The Offspring, Gorillaz / EarthGang, Bryan Adams, Greta Van Fleet (leur nouvelle chanson Farewell For Now est sortie récemment) / Hannah Wicklund / The Pretty Reckless et Primus / Black Mountain. J'ai souvent (ou eu) différentes discussions avec différentes personnes pour des spectacles comme par exemple Nas / Wu-Tang Clan, Earth Wind & Fire / Lionel Richie (j'aurais miser plus sur le côté Commodores funky), Rod Stewart / Cheap Trick. Ça n'aboutit pas toujours et le plus souvent d el'autre côté que du mien, je suis assez down comme on dirait. Enfin, j'espère qu'une réglementation sera atteinte avec Ticketmaster car il y a vol des honnêtes clients de spectacles. Souvent, tous les billets pour un spectacle populaire sont achetés pour la revente ''légale'', on ne pensait pas s'ennuyer des scalpers mais c'est encore pire qu'à cette époque révolue.

On November 19, 2023, I will be going to the Tool show at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The shows I've seen over the past year are Jean-Thomas Jobin, Ron Josol / Eddy King, July Talk / Crown Lands, an evening of humor at Les Insulaires in Laval last December, The Offspring, Gorillaz / EarthGang, Bryan Adams, Greta Van Fleet (their new song Farewell For Now was released recently) / Hannah Wicklund / The Pretty Reckless and Primus / Black Mountain. I often have (or had) different discussions with different people for shows such as Nas / Wu-Tang Clan, Earth Wind & Fire / Lionel Richie (I would have bet more on the funky Commodores side), Rod Stewart / Cheap Trick. It doesn't always work out and most often on the other side than mine, I'm pretty down to go as it seems. Finally, I hope that a regulation will be reached with Ticketmaster because there is thievery going on with honest show customers. Often all the tickets for a popular show are bought for ''legal'' resale, we never thought we'd missed the tickets scalpers but it's even worse than in those bygone days.

2 - Fairview High School Jazz Ensemble - Country Road (1978)

Blues psychédélique avec d'anciens membres du groupe Lighthouse. L'un des albums les plus rares du Canada. Projet universitaire, Gargoyle a été tiré à seulement 100 exemplaires dans une couverture bon marché et fragile.

Ce batteur et musicien de session américain est considéré comme l'un des batteurs de studio les plus enregistrés de l'industrie musicale, il revendique plus de 35 000 sessions et 6 000 simples. Psychedelic Percussion est un album de jazz fusion de 1967.

Il s'agit d'un groupe de jazz-rock/fusion italien instrumental qui a deux albums en 1976 et 1978.

La plupart de leurs membres venaient du groupe progressif précédent Festa Mobile. L'album Sconcerto est paru en 1976 avec EMI.

Jackie and Roy était un duo de jazz vocale composée de mari et femme, la chanteuse Jackie Cain et le chanteur / pianiste Roy Kral. Grass est leur seul album avec Capitol après un passage chez Verve. Deus Brasileiro est une reprise de Marcos Valle.

7 - Kjell Öhman - The First Move (1975)

Pianiste jazz suédois qui était avec l'étiquette danoise Sonet pour son album Misturada. En 1972, il a fait partie de Lasse Samuelsons Alarm avec Janne Schaffer. En 1974, avec ce même Janne, il était de Mads Vinding Group auquel Sabu Martinez prenait aussi part.

8 - Laboratorium - Pięciobój Nowoczesny (1976)

In 1970, the jazz fusion group formed in Krakow, Poland. The Modern Pentathlon album consists of a long five-part track Piêciobój Nowoczesny and four shorter tracks, three of which were distinctly funky. This album was never reissued on vinyl.

Actrice née à Istanbul qui a aussi fait un peu de musique. Ce 45 tours est paru avec l'étiquette belge Elver de Marcel De Keukeleire. Le titre signifie J'aime,  j'aimerai et il n'y a pas eu de réédition ni aucune apparition sur une compilation.
