Run

Born November 14, 1964, it is the birthday of Joseph Simmons, also known as Run of Run-DMC. In 2005, he released his album Distortion. In his early days, he was DJing for Kurtis Blow. Before the songwriter of The Breaks was touring, Run broke his arm while playing basketball with Jason Mizell. Upon returning from his tour, Kurtis Walker found that Run had formed a group with Jason Mizell (Jam Master Jay) as DJ and DMC as another MC.

Alors que l’auteur de la chanson The Breaks allait partir en tournée, Run s’est cassé un bras en jouant au basketball avec Jason Mizell. Au retour de sa tournée, Kurtis Walker a constaté que Run avait formé un groupe avec Jason Mizell (Jam Master Jay) comme DJ et DMC comme autre MC.

On August 26, 2023, Big Daddy Kane headlined a Hip Hop 50 event at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London. During the show, Kamanchi Sly from British group Hijack came on stage wearing a mask and simply stood in front of the cheering audience. Kane tolerated the interruption for a few minutes but ended up stopping the music to confront the agitator. Hijack was scheduled to perform after Big Daddy Kane. This was considered disrespectful by Hijack, which is why Sly invaded the stage. Ice-T signed  Hijack to his own Rhyme Syndicate label, they recorded and released the single "The Badman is Robbin'" (Rhyme Syndicate, 1989). The track reached number 56 on the UK Singles Chart. Hijack's debut album, The Horns of Jericho (Rhyme Syndicate, 1991), was recorded around the same time.
