Rawkus 50

On November 27, 2007, it was the release of Rawkus 50, fifty digital albums were released the same day. Rawkus Records debuted in 1997. Artists who have recorded with Rawkus include Reflection Eternal, Company Flow, the High and Mighty, Mos Def & Talib Kweli (as Blackstar), Eminem, Common, Pharoahe Monch and Skillz. What is the kind of example that brought Rawkus to ruin? According to Skillz, when MCA wanted to have Nelly and Kool G Rap together.

On August 26, 2023, Big Daddy Kane headlined a Hip Hop 50 event at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London. During the show, Kamanchi Sly from British group Hijack came on stage wearing a mask and simply stood in front of the cheering audience. Kane tolerated the interruption for a few minutes but ended up stopping the music to confront the agitator. Hijack was scheduled to perform after Big Daddy Kane. This was considered disrespectful by Hijack, which is why Sly invaded the stage. Ice-T signed  Hijack to his own Rhyme Syndicate label, they recorded and released the single "The Badman is Robbin'" (Rhyme Syndicate, 1989). The track reached number 56 on the UK Singles Chart. Hijack's debut album, The Horns of Jericho (Rhyme Syndicate, 1991), was recorded around the same time.
