Jesse Jaymes

Born August 22, 1968, it is the birthday of Jesse Itzler aka Jesse Jaymes. His first album in 1991 with Delicious Vinyl was Thirty Footer in Your Face. His fortune is now estimated at 200 million in part because of Alphabet City Sports Records, Marquis Jet and the 100 Mile Group which had partnered with Zico Coconut Water. Coca-Cola bought Zico in 2012.

On August 26, 2023, Big Daddy Kane headlined a Hip Hop 50 event at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London. During the show, Kamanchi Sly from British group Hijack came on stage wearing a mask and simply stood in front of the cheering audience. Kane tolerated the interruption for a few minutes but ended up stopping the music to confront the agitator. Hijack was scheduled to perform after Big Daddy Kane. This was considered disrespectful by Hijack, which is why Sly invaded the stage. Ice-T signed  Hijack to his own Rhyme Syndicate label, they recorded and released the single "The Badman is Robbin'" (Rhyme Syndicate, 1989). The track reached number 56 on the UK Singles Chart. Hijack's debut album, The Horns of Jericho (Rhyme Syndicate, 1991), was recorded around the same time.
