Born June 7, 1990, it is Iggy Azalea's birthday. Her 2013 song Work is considered snap music. Bad Germanic dance? A sandpaper style product to fight acne? The famous card game also called Slapjack in China? No, no and no! Also called Ringtone Rap, this is a derivative of crunk that is said to be more relaxed. Coming back to Amethyst Amelia Kelly her prostitute look didn't please everybody but these sexist comments were strongly denounced. To the surprise of many detractors, she was not wearing a nose clip in the Work video. Her nasal voice, à la Fran Dresher, is totally her.

On August 26, 2023, Big Daddy Kane headlined a Hip Hop 50 event at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London. During the show, Kamanchi Sly from British group Hijack came on stage wearing a mask and simply stood in front of the cheering audience. Kane tolerated the interruption for a few minutes but ended up stopping the music to confront the agitator. Hijack was scheduled to perform after Big Daddy Kane. This was considered disrespectful by Hijack, which is why Sly invaded the stage. Ice-T signed  Hijack to his own Rhyme Syndicate label, they recorded and released the single "The Badman is Robbin'" (Rhyme Syndicate, 1989). The track reached number 56 on the UK Singles Chart.
